Where a value is not established in people, this table says so rather than filling the box.

KPV is a tripeptide made of lysine, proline and valine, matching the tail of the hormone alpha-MSH. It is studied mainly for anti-inflammatory effects in the gut and skin.

How KPV works

KPV appears to enter cells and act inside them to blunt inflammatory signaling, including the NF-kB pathway. In gut tissue it is taken up by the PepT1 transporter, which concentrates it where inflammation is high. This reduces production of inflammatory messengers without the pigment effects of full alpha-MSH. The evidence so far is early lab and cell research, with no completed human trials.

Benefits and side effects in the research

No completed human trials; the evidence base is early lab and cell research.

Potential benefits
  • Studied for reducing inflammatory signaling in gut tissue
  • Researched for calming skin inflammation and irritation
  • Studied for recovery in inflammatory bowel research
  • Does not carry the skin-darkening effect of full alpha-MSH
Reported side effects
  • Human safety data is essentially absent, so risks are poorly defined
  • Possible injection-site reactions
  • Purity and dosing vary widely in unregulated products
  • Effects seen in the lab may not translate to people

A summary of the research, not medical advice. Individual benefits and risks vary, and for some of these compounds the human evidence is still early.

KPV is studied mainly for anti-inflammatory effects in gut and skin contexts. Reports describe early changes in gut comfort within one to two weeks, with skin-related reports generally taking a bit longer, over three to six weeks.

Suppliers are listed alphabetically. We do not rank them by price, because the cheapest vial and the one worth buying are rarely the same thing. The column that matters is the last one, and today most of it reads "none on file", including for Quartz Peptides, which is owned by this site’s editor. See the disclosure and the COA guide.

Storage

Lyophilized: Keep the sealed powder cold and dark, near -20 °C, dry and out of light.
Reconstituted: Refrigerate the mixed vial at 2 to 8 °C, use within a few weeks and avoid freeze and thaw.
Let a cold vial reach room temperature before you open it, so it takes on less condensation.

Common questions
How strong is the evidence for KPV?

We grade it D on a four-point scale. No completed human trials. Early lab and cell research.

What is the half-life of KPV?

It is not well characterized in humans. Published pharmacokinetic data for KPV is thin, so any specific figure you see quoted should be treated with caution.

What amount of KPV is used in the research?

Ongoing: 250 mcg to 1 mg daily. No human trials establish a schedule. Reference practice only.

How much does KPV cost?

A 10 mg vial lists at $68 from BioEdge Research Labs, which works out to $6.80 per mg and about $3.40 per dose at the amount used in research. Prices checked September 4, 2026. Price is not a quality signal, so check the certificate of analysis before ordering from anyone.

How is KPV stored once reconstituted?

Refrigerate the mixed vial at 2 to 8 °C, use within a few weeks and avoid freeze and thaw.
