How to reconstitute peptides
Everything on turning a freeze-dried peptide into a measured, injectable solution: the method, the math and a per-compound quick reference.
What reconstitution means
Reconstitution is the step of adding a liquid, almost always bacteriostatic water, to a freeze-dried peptide powder to make a solution you can measure and inject. The amount of water you add sets the concentration, and the concentration decides how much you draw for a given dose. Get that relationship and the rest is arithmetic.
What the process looks like
In published protocols the powder is dissolved by adding bacteriostatic water to the vial gently, letting it go into solution without hard mixing, and keeping the mixed vial refrigerated at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius. The point that matters for reading dosing figures is that the water amount sets the concentration. This is background on how the research is handled, not instructions for preparing, measuring or administering any compound.
Let the math run itself
Concentration is peptide divided by water. Volume is the target amount divided by concentration. U-100 units are that volume times 100. You can follow it by hand for understanding, or enter a vial size, water and target amount into the dosage calculator and it returns the concentration, the equivalent volume and the number of doses per vial.
Units, without the confusion
Milligrams and micrograms measure weight; 1 mg is 1,000 mcg. International units measure activity and apply to only a few compounds. Syringe units are volume marks, not a dose. The full breakdown is in the units guide.
